If like me you spend far to much on make up and are looking for a new foundation this is the blog post for you.
Recently I have been using the Barry M Flawless Matte Finish Oil Free Foundation. At £5.99 it's a budget friendly foundation which is brilliant news but is it worth a purchase.
I have tried and love the nail varnishes from Barry M so I wanted to try more from the range and after being abit hasty about the lipstick and totally loving it now I couldn't wait to try the foundation.
Firstly let's look at the packaging. It's a simple lightweight plastic bottle which I think is perfect for travel and fits nicely in a make up bag. The design of the bottle is very similar to the benefit hello flawless but at £29 I've never tried it so I can't compare the two.
The colour I picked was Nude. I'm rubbish at choosing foundation shades and still not sure if it's too dark for me but failing that I can save it for holidays. I tried it on my hand and it blended well so thought it was worth a try.
I always apply foundation with a sponge, I know some people use there fingers or brushes but I find it easier and less messy on a sponge.
I found a little product goes a long way and it was very easy to spread and went on evenly and was very buildable, in fact it's probably one of the nicest foundations I've ever applied. It didn't settle into pores and spread very evenly, it wasn't to thick with good coverage and gave me a nice Matte finish.
I used my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder like normal to set the foundation and off I went for the day.
I picked a full day at work to try this foundation, that's usually the best time to try as I forget I'm wearing it and don't obsess what it looks like.
By dinner time I found it did have to reapply my powder as I found my nose had become a little bit shiny (but that's like normal and I am a little paranoid about this) by the end of the day the coverage wasn't as I would have liked but not as bad as some I have used and I do have oily skin so this is expected.
If I had been going out for the evening I would have had to reapply but the product didn't cake on my face so if a touch up was needed you could easily reapply without taking the whole make up off and start again.

At £5.99 it's a good price for a foundation but I think it would be more suitable for someone with a drier skin than mine and maybe it would be a little bit longer lasting on a less oily skin type than myself.
If you have tried it please let me know what you think and if you have got a favourite budget foundation please let me know.
Happy shopping
