TRYING OUT BUDGET SKINCARE!

Nothing over £1
By Jue Douglas

Hiya again! I hope you are all having a great week and all is good in your part of the world.
Today I wanted to share with you my budget skincare products that I have recently bought and which were my favourites and which I wouldn’t buy again.
If like me you don’t have much extra cash to splash on luxury skincare products or you just like a good old bargain you have come to the right place as I’ve been shopping around so you don’t have to.
Many of you might not yet be worried about wrinkles or don’t have problematic skin but sadly I have both so I thought as the party season begins it was the perfect time to find some cheap products that might help if your skin is feeling a little like it needs some TLC. .
Last week I was a tiny bit poorly and when that happens all kind of things happen to my skin from dry flaky bits to spots that need names because they are so big.
The SUPERDRUG CHARCOAL PEEL OFF MASK 99p is a complete god send. Now I normally don’t rave so much about a mask in a packet as I find them a little messy and am totally obsessed with sheet masks, but this one has to definitely be an exception. It contains Witch Hazel as well as Charcoal and has a deep pore cleansing aid.
I honestly thought it was going to be really messy and sticky but it’s brilliant. It goes on really easily ( that’s the only sticky bit I promise)  and sets pretty much instantly. After about 15 mins it’s all ready to be peeled off with no mess.It peels off so easily and isn’t any way painful.  Underneath you skin feels amazing and my two named spots felt instantly dryer and less painful after I used this mask once. They are virtually gone now and I swear it’s because of this mask that they didn’t linger or spread anywhere else. So if you suffer with the occasional spots give this a try and it’s only 99p.

Another charcoal mask I have tried is the CREIGHTONS CHARCOAL DETOXIFYING CLAY MASK £1 from HOME BARGAINS.
This works differently from the other mask as you get lots of uses from the tube but even though your skin does feel nice after use, I don’t think it works as a treatment more like a prevention and the product does provide a thin layer where as the Superdrug one is thicker. It’s the same sort of thing
that you leave on for 15 mins or so but this one has to be washed off so a lot more messy. But it’s a nice cheap mask to use once a week and I always have a tube in.

Gel eye patches are definitely a thing at the moment with lots of luxury brands selling them, but they can be expensive, hence why I’ve never tried them. So when I saw these in B&M for £1, I wanted to give them a try. They are the PRETTY SMOOTH WRINKLE CARE GEL EYE PATCHES. I was a little dubious that the wouldn’t work being so cheap, but it’s only a pound so worth a try. I love the fact that these are Gel and you get 4 treatments in a pack. That’s 25p a treatment!!
The patches themselves feel very strange to the touch ( they remind me of fish. I’m not really selling this am I) and the packaging says leave them on for 20-25 mins. Now this to me seems impossible as they do keep slipping and you do have to sit at a certain angle.( lying down)  They are ideal if you are watching TV or doing something else so your minds kept off them as they do feel strange and a little bit uncomfortable. I’m not sure if they do anything for wrinkles but they certainly make your eyes feel more awake and reduce puffiness. They would be great for the morning after a big night out.
I love the Serum they leave when removed and found this to feel very nice when gently rubbed in.
All in all a nice product that it’s too early to tell if it reduces wrinkles but it that certainly makes you feel more awake.

Surely you can’t buy an anti wrinkle cream for £1 can you? .. well you can and Poundland sell it.
Yes the DERMA V10 DEEP WRINKLE COLLAGEN FILLER. This comes in a little tube and promises to reduce the signs of wrinkles and furrows with its ingredients of Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid. Now I don’t know what I was expecting for a £1, but this to me seem more of a quick fix rather than a treatment. It feels nice on the skin and I used it under makeup to fill in my fine lines. I found that around my eyes definitely looked better for a time and I am very keen to try the other items that are available ( they have a day and a night cream) if I decide to buy them I will keep you updated.
I wouldn’t repurchase this again though even though I’m definitely going to keep using it.

Please let me know if you have tried any of these item especially the SUPERDRUG CHARCOAL MASK as its my stand out product of the four. I would love to know if you love it as much as me.

Coming up soon I have my Christmas Gift Guide which I can’t wait to show you some of the great items I’ve already bought for my friends and family.
Whatever your doing have a great week
Jue X
