(PIXI GLOW TONIC DUPE?)
By Jue Douglas

So after the over excitement of last weeks post ( I think my excitement not anyone else’s)! You can imagine my delight on finding another little dupe delight from Aldi.
Firstly let me set the seen I’ve just finished work and I needed something for tea. I’m walking up and down the aisles and I can’t decide. I’m just contemplating buying some Maple Salt fudge that they have in the new Christmas range when I turn around and noticed the LACURA HEALTHY GLOW TONER right there on the top shelf.
Let me say right now it takes a lot for me to forget about Maple Salt Fudge I can tell you but this little beauty dupe marvel did just that.
Now I’ve been reading all about this over the internet and was super excited to try. My local Aldi is only small and I thought to myself “oh they won’t have it in” How wrong was I!!!! The product has been compared to the PIXI GLOW TONIC which is £18!!! So you can imagine my excitement here can’t you!
Firstly let me tell you about the PIXI GLOW TONIC product for those of you who don’t know. Pixi were one of the first brands to introduce acid toners, to exfoliate your skin more effectively than a scrub. It’s so popular and people who use it usually love it and their skin is so amazing! But it’s £18! I know you can’t put a price on good skin but I need new guttering and it doesn’t pay for itself!

Now regular readers of my blog know that I have recently ditched the scrubs as I can’t be trusted not to get them in my eyes so I’m tending to want to reach for acid toners to exfoliate my skin so this little beauty find couldn’t have come at a better time.

First impressions;
The packaging is virtually identical. It’s another of those double take items that could quite posssibly be the same products. Aldi do this so well with their dupe products making them very easy to spot and it makes my job a lot easier I can tell you. Some would say it might be a step to far and a real copy cat attempt by Aldi but this doesn’t bother me one bit. I think it’s a great affordable way that people who haven’t got tons of money to spend on luxury products can get to use similar products and are still able to have good skin as well.
Next the product itself. It super similar to the original PIXI product. The scent isn’t as strong in the Aldi product and does smell more appealing rather than chemically like it’s expensive counterpart.
It contains the same amount of GLYCOLIC ACID 5% as the PIXI product which is kind of important to me. This is the magic ingredient that helped my skin pigmentation last year and is the reason I didn’t have it so badly this year. So for me that in itself is an amazing factor. The ingredients list on the whole of both products is very similar with a few differences but nothing major really that I can’t live with.
Now as with the PIXI product a little does go a long way and I use a large cotton wool pad over my face after I’ve removed my makeup just to remove everything else in the evening. It’s amazing how much extra does get removed and your face really does feel clean from excess dirt and flakey dead skin.
The results are pretty instant and it does give you a glow which I’m guessing is what everybody wants..right?
I’ve also found that my makeup does tend to sit better on my face after I’ve used this product the night before and as I’ve said my pigmentation is so much better this year from using products with Glycolic Acid in already making this a really affordable way forward for me.

On the whole I would definitely recommend and I’m stocking up while it’s still available in my local ALDI store as I love how this makes my skin feel at such a great price!
If you fancy trying this out let me know how you get on.
Oh and about the Maple Salt Fudge I went back for that another day!
Until next time you lovely lot
