BAKERDAYS LETTER BOX CAKE

November 17, 2018

So let me set the scene. There I was sitting watching “This Morning” ( please don’t judge me here!!) when I received an email from the lovely people from bakerdays asking me if I would like to try out one of their Letterbox cakes.
Of course I jumped at the chance, as a yummy cake opportunity doesn’t come around everyday.

Firstly let me tell you about the company;
Bakerdays was founded by Andra Guzyova and Alan Hawkes and is based in Nottinghamshire. They safely deliver celebration and gift cakes all over the UK the very next day or any date of your choice. Delivery is free on orders over £100.

The idea of the letterbox cake is that you order the cake of your choice and as the name suggests is small enough to fit though your letterbox. ( Meaning no waiting in for the postman or having to go to the post office to collect your parcel!) At £14.99 these are a popular choice and the perfect size.This to me seems a great idea as how many of us struggle with gift ideas especially as Christmas is approaching  and what could be better than a parcel though your door of a yummy cake.

Now I’m not going to lie when I first thought about a cake coming though the post I was a little worried. First I thought it would break. The cake was wrapped really well it comes in a small letterbox friendly box, securely enclosed in a cutesy tin with packaging around the sides making is super safe and very sturdy.

The cakes come in a choice of colours and sizes from cupcakes to larger cakes and every cake is made with each individual customer in mind. You can even have a picture of your choice on the cake for that special personal touch.

As this could make an excellent Christmas gift idea, I went for a pink Christmas theme! ( I’m not sure a picture of me on a cake would be a good idea)  But you can personalise any cake you order, meaning you can upload any picture of your choice to the cake.

You can also choose what kind of cake you would like to order for example, the one I was sent is a yummy lemon drizzle cake, because, welI I do love a lemon cake. If lemons not your cup of tea you could choose from a Victoria Sponge, Fruit Cake, Chocolate Chip Cake, A Gluten and Wheat Free Cake, Half Chocolate and Sponge, Dairy Free Cake, Red Velvet Cake, Marble
 Cake, and for the cupcakes you can either have Vanilla or Chocolate.
I’m think the choice is amazing and I’m loving the fact that if you do have any food allergies you are still catered for. ( ie wheat and dairy free)
It’s not just the letter box cake that feeds up to 4 people that you can order. Larger cakes are available. You can even buy a large cake that would feed up to 55 people!! Now that would be some cake!!
The small party cake (7 inches) costs £27.99, medium cake (9 inches) £37.99 and large cakes ( 12 inches) So any size party would be catered for.

Now cake doesn’t last very long in my house and this one was no exception. Just in case you are not like me the cakes do keep for up to 14 days, so you don’t have to eat it all in one go. You can easily get 4 slices out of the letterbox cake and it really does keep well in the tin. The cake tasted amazing. It was so moist and fresh even after 2 days. I can definitely see how it would keep for a lot longer. The lemon really gave it a kick and I would definitely recommend the lemon version of this cake to anyone.  The tin is super cute as well so I will definitely reuse the tin for something else.

I will leave you the link below just in case you fancy ordering one of these fantastic cakes below.

They make a great gift for someone of any age and with Christmas on its way it’s perfect for any cake lovers who you don’t know what gift to buy.
