Worth the type??

Oh how I would love to tell you that my skin was beautiful and flawless with not a blemish, pimple or age spot to be seen. ( I would be so lying here if I did!!)  Now you guys know I love an impromptu blog post and this one is just that. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been using the LOREAL INFALLIBLE 24HR FRESH SKIN FOUNDATION ( offer price £9.99) and really wanted to let you know my views on the foundation.
I have used L’Oréal foundations before and if you are a regular reader to my posts you will already know my love for the Infallible 24HR matte foundation that I have ( amongst others ) been using for a while now. Now I don’t know what’s happening but this foundation has been really hard to get hold of in smaller stores hence me wanting to find a new “favourite” that was easy for me to get hold of.
The Infallible 24HR  fresh wear could easily be the new replacement. Usually £12.99 it’s on a special introductory price of £9.99 at the moment. This is a similar price to the 24HR matte which is £7.99. Unlike the matte version it comes in a glass pump jar. Regular blog readers might remember I prefer a plastic tube rather than a glass jar. I always find glass jars make them heavy to carry around but as I haven’t any trips planned I’m not going to worry about that factor much at the moment.

This foundation is available in 26 shades which seems a good choice for every skin tone.
Now I’m never sure of what shade I am. I have been known to mix shades especially in the middle of the seasons as I always have a darker shade in the summer and then a really pale shade for winter. I found that 135 shade Radiant Vanilla works well for me at the moment but I’m sure I my go a shade lighter in a few months time.

The first time I tried this I was surprised that the foundation seems really thin and I was worried it wasn’t going to cover anything. It was definitely thinner consistency than the Infallible matte foundation.
I always use a sponge to apply and it worked well with this foundation. It blends out really well and really covers which I’m surprised about with it being a thinner foundation. The fact it’s thin actually is a complete plus point when applying
I used two layers  as it’s really buildable and I do have blemishes to cover. I did use a little pressed powder over the top to set it and I found it left a matte finish.
I found it gives an even tone and even though it’s not a natural finish foundation I was really happy with the results.
Now does it last all day? I would say you wouldn’t get 24 hours of wear out of it like it’s claim and I did have to dust a little pressed powder over the top at lunch time. Saying that I always do this with any foundation so it probably isn’t really needed and it would last the full day, or an evening out for most people. Its really lightweight and feels super comfortable even with two layers on.
My only issue is it does settle into fine lines around the eyes if you don’t use a concealer underneath. It does feel a little drying around the eye area as well. I used the Maybelline Eraser Eye in the shade nude and this is perfect to compliment this foundation.

All in all I would definitely buy this again and it’s become my new favourite foundation.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. As always I thank everyone for your on going support
Until next time

  1. The matte one is so hard to get hold of. You should try the full coverage one. It’s really good!
