JANUARY FAVOURITES

What I’ve been loving in January 2019!!
By Jue Douglas

So welcome to the first “favourites” post of 2019. I hope you’re all well and life is treating you kindly. I’m really sorry my posts have been abit sparse this month. I have been so busy and life just kept getting in the way!! But I’m back so hopefully my posts can become more regular from now on!
So what better way to start back with a “favourites post”! You guys know the drill, I’m going to show you the things that I have been loving this month. I’m not going to include disappointing products this month as we all have disappointments in our lives and I don’t like negativity on the blog. I might just point out a product that is a favourite and a disappointment all in one, but I will leave this till the end.
I’m going to start with a fragrance. I don’t know if you guys remember but last summer I went all the way to Spain and shopped at Lidl!! Whilst I was in there, I picked up some perfume. I wrote a post about these as at the time I thought they were amazing. When I returned my local Lidl didn’t stock the full range only the Madam glamour one which is a dupe for Chanel. Now don’t get me wrong I do like this but it’s not my favourite. So I’ll set the scene I’m browsing around the bakery department just wondering which donut I fancy and out of the corner of my eye I notice a cardboard stand full of the fragrances. They had women’s, men’s, the full range. They are £4.99 each so I picked up my favourite which is Angelica. This might come as no surprise that it’s a copy of Angel. The reason why I love these fragrances is they last so blimin long and for the price are amazing. Definitely worth a try if you like expensive fragrances but not the price tag

This month I was asked to try a fake tan. Oh course I said yes. The Norvell Express tan is really good and gives such a natural long lasting tan. I have done a post about it as it was a gifted item if you
fancy a read, but I was so impressed. I won’t go into it in full detail just in case you’ve read the
previous blog post so I’m just going to leave the link below!

You guys know how much I love a glow tonic and after been sent some products from Sanctuary Spa to try it was the daily glow Glycolic Acid tonic that was one of my favourites in the range. I have a few different ones from different brands in my collection but this is the one I’m loving the most at the moment. It does deserve a post all of its own but I just wanted to give it a little mention as it’s what I’ve been loving this month.
So I know I don’t talk much about my hair ( if you could see me now you would understand why I don’t!) Basically it’s a state. In the summer I thought it was a good idea to dye it blue/black. Well it wasn’t! Everything went blue, when I say everything I mean towels and pillows! I really hated it so I used the colour rewind to get rid of it. This didn’t really work so I bought some hair lightening bleach. Omg this got rid of the blue but even though it’s still dark it’s really damaged. So this brings me to tell you my love of the Aussie 3 minute miracle reconstruction conditioner. It not only smells amazing but is certainly helping my hair to look a little bit well..... not dead! I’ve still got a long way to go but hopefully it’s looking a little bit better.
I couldn’t do a favourites post without telling you about a hand cream that I’ve been loving this month. It’s the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Hand Renew cream. I don’t know what it is about products that contain Glycolic acid but this is another one in my collection. Not only does it soften your hands but it smells amazing and isn’t at all sticky, like some hand creams can be. There is a separate post for this hand cream which if you are interested in reading I can leave the link below.

My last beauty product I want to mention is the Revolution Highlight compact opulence. Not only is the packaging so pretty but the product itself is beautiful. The most exciting thing here is this beautiful palette is free when you spend £12 on Revolution in Superdrug. But it’s only £4 normally anyway so it’s a great little beauty highlighter find! I’ve inserted a picture of my face (sorry!) just to show the highlight and how nice it is!)
Now onto clothes.. My new favourite item of clothing has to be this Demin Jacket from Primark. It was £13!! Yes I couldn’t believe it either. Not only is it a bargain but I love the wash of it and the fact it doesn’t have any holes in it. Now I know regular readers to this blog know I don’t need a new Demin jacket but I really do. I did go a couple of sizes up on this as I wanted it to look oversized but I do think it’s meant to be fitted. I am going to start up my new “outfit of the day” page for 2019 in the upcoming months and I’m sure this will feature!

Lastly I want to talk about a couple of films I have been to see. One is Mary Poppins Returns and the other is Bohemian rhapsody.
Since it was announced there was to be another Mary Poppins film I knew as soon as it was released I would have to be there. I’ve always loved the original and as a child wanted to be like Mary Poppins!! ( Fun Fact!!! I went dressed up for comic relief for school when I was 12 as Mary Poppins and no one knew who I had come as!!!!!) The new film didn’t disappoint and Emily Brunt is amazing!!

Now I’m not going to lie I really didn’t want to see Bohemian Rhapsody . I have never been a Queen fan and thought it was going to be rubbish. How wrong was I!!! It’s amazing and dare I say better than Mary Poppins Returns. Since watching the film I’ve found myself loving some of the songs and have downloaded them onto my phone. So even if you’re not a fan of the band it’s still worth watching as you might find like me you might grow to love them.

Now to end I’m going to tell you about my love and loath for a product. It’s the lipsticks from Primark. Now I know I shouldn’t expect much as depending if you want a matte lipstick or Lustre lip they can range in price from 90p to £1.50. My only grip with the product is they break off. The formula is amazing, the packaging is amazing but even if your really careful and treat them like your handling glass or something they still break. It’s such a shame because they are so long lasting and comfortable on your lips and I love all the shades. At one point I thought the formula had been changed but sadly no. The Luste ones are slightly better than the matte ones but you guys know I do love myself a matte lip! I have told myself I’m not buying anymore of these now as they are false economy which is such a shame.
Anyway enough with the negativity!!! I really don’t like it.
I will be back next week ( hopefully) with another little ramble. I’m thinking a Primark shop as I haven’t done one in a while and I have recently picked up a few bits.
Until next time
