So, even I have to admit that summer is over and Autumn has begun. So it’s time to switch up our skincare and give our skin the love it needs in the harsh winter months.
I don’t know if you guys remember but a couple of months ago I excitedly reviewed the SAMAYA anti ageing facial oil. The results were pretty amazing and I have continued to incorporate it into my evening skincare routine So when the brand asked me if I wanted to try out the Kapha Hydrating Cleanser as well, I couldn’t say no!

I had been intrigued about the full range online originally when I had been writing my previous post. I loved the sound of this Hydrating cleanser, as some of the ones I have used in the past can be quite drying. I was excited to see how it worked on it’s own as a single product  or if it worked better as part of a skincare routine with the Anti-Ageing  product I had already been using and been completely loving.

So first of all let me tell you a bit about the concept of this unique brand just in case you missed my original first post.
Samaya is an all natural skincare brand based around Ayurvedic practices. The brand was founded by Abida Abida Halstenberg who while growing up in India was surrounded by Ayurvedic culture. With remedies passed down from her grandmother created a skincare brand that helps achieve samadosha or to provide perfect balance in your life, starting with your skin.
Samaya collects the authentic elements of Ayurveda together with clinically proven active and anti-ageing ingredients to provide a relaxing, indulgent premium skincare that works in harmony with your lifestyle.

Before using any of the products, Samaya recommend you take the Dosha test. This can be done online and I will leave you a link for you to try out this test for yourselves at the bottom of this post.
So after doing a short simple test, ( don’t worry the test is just a few lifestyle questions) you should get your Dosha results saying which of the products are suitable for your skin and lifestyle.
With three different types of Dosha, Vata, Pitta or Kapha, each have their own skincare ranges containing all natural blend of botanical ingredients built on thousands of years of holistic knowledge.

I thought it would be useful to include the “Discover Your Dosha” taken from the Samaya website.
So after taking the test my Dosha is Kapha. This is for skin that is usually thick and pale, but can be radiant and glowing, but with clogged
Which ever Dosha you are,  the skincare brand  promises to contribute to healthier, radiant looking skin.

Firstly the packaging. The product is packaged in a similar way to the oil. It’s classy and simple and completely gorgeous. It would definitely look good on anyone’s dressing table. ( not that this is an important factor but it’s a plus point!)
This time the product is developed with the powerful unique formation of Ayurvedic botanicals such as Ashwaganha, Sandalwood, Vetivert and Frankincense.

The product comes in a simple tube with the cleanser safely inside. The product itself comes in a pretty glass pump action bottle. The pumps new design is made to dispense just the right amount of product in just two pumps. This is perfect as you know you are not going to be wasting any of the
You only need to smallest of amount and with the  bottle being a generous 100ml in size you can tell that it’s going to last you a while.
The product itself is a white silky creamy lotion. It’s got quite a distinct smell which isn’t offensive and you can really smell the natural aromas coming though. These aromas are really relaxing and make the product completely enjoyable.
The lotion is very light and it’s very easy to apply as it sort of melts into your skin. I found applying in circular motions the best way to massage it into my face.  This for me was the most effective way I found for removing my makeup, Even waterproof mascara came away easily with this method. You know how some cleansers can sting your eyes, well this totally doesn’t. Not even a little bit. It doesn’t dry out your skin either especially around the delicate eye area which is one of my problem areas.
The product could be use in the morning as well, but for me, because of the relaxation benefits of the product I have been using it in the evening. I have been using the SAMAYA Kapha Anti-Ageing oil in the evening also and I think the products really go hand in hand with each other.
The product is designed to cleanse as well as being hydrating. So adding the SAMAYA Kapha Anti-Ageing oil afterwards feels like you’ve given yourself a proper facial. Like a spa facial treatment in your own home. It’s feels like the perfect treatment to pamper yourself in the pending Winter months.

Which ever way you choose to remove the product, either with warm water or a Muslin cloth you are left with deeply cleansed skin. Your skin feels soft, to the touch, supple and extremely hydrated. Your skin also feels purified, softer and more radiant. In fact it feels completely clean with a little bit of a glow about it. This is the perfect product to be using at the moment when the temperature is changing and you just feel like your skin needs a treat. It’s definitely worth using  during the winter months too, when skin, if it’s anything like mine, can be a little bit dry.
Another plus point to this product is my skin hasn’t had any breakouts since I began using the Samaya range. For me this is a big deal as my skin can be very temperamental especially at this time of the year.. I’m really keen to continue using both products together in the future and Samaya definitely deserves a place in everyones skincare routine.
Its also good to know I’m not the only one who loves this! The Samaya Hydrating Cleanser has also won the OK Beauty award for 2017.
Another great point to this product is it’s Vegan, in fact the whole range is so you can buy with confidence.
If you missed my last post, I will leave the link below. On this post I go into more detail about the brand and what each Dosha is. I didn’t want to repeat myself on this post so please feel free to check it out if you want more information.

If you fancy buying this amazing cleanser I will leave you the link below.

I am excited to see the benefits of using both these products over time and will keep you all updated.

Until next time
