HASK ARGAN OIL FROM MOROCCO

May 20, 2019

So I never really talk about my hair. It’s one of those taboo issues. Last year I dyed my hair blue. I don’t mean really blue I mean blue blackish. I hated it. I then tried one of those colour rewind products. That didn’t work, so and I don’t know why I bought a gradual hair lightener. It was a sort of spray bleach. I thought it might be safer to use. How wrong was I... yes it did lighten my hair. Not by loads but it got rid of the blue but parts of my hair resembled an elastic band. Luckily for me it was underneath my hair so when it broke off it wasn’t as noticeable as it could have been.
Anyway if you are still with me my hair is damaged and in need of a good repair product.
This is where Hask hair products are needed and I mean urgently!
So before I start, let me tell you a bit about the brand. Hask was first introduced in Europe in 2012. You probably won’t be surprised to know it was a great success that within the last four years or so it had expanded worldwide.
The range appeals to all hair types and ethnicities using high quality ingredients and salon quality results at an affordable price, Which is kind of what I like in a product.
The list is endless of what quality ingredients have been used within the brand but for me today it’s all about Argan Oil.

Argan Oil is great for frizzy or damaged hair. Not only does it help it to look great it can restore and strengthen. This is great if you hit the hair dye bottle as much as I do or use a lot of heat styling appliances.
The four items I received were
Hask Argan Oil Repairing Shampoo 355ml
Hask Argan Oil Repairing Conditioner 355ml
Hask Argan Oil Repairing Deep Conditioner 50ml
Hask Argan Oil Hot Oil Treatment 29.5ml
I thought I would try out the Shampoo and Conditioner at the same time. Using the Repairing Deep Conditioner packet for one day of the week and the next week the Hot Oil treatment. I don’t know if I’m doing the right thing but did want to see if you needed to use the whole range together or if you could get away with parts of the range if that makes sense.
The whole range is free of surfaces, parabens, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol and artificial colours. This is ideal for people with hair extensions or any allergic reactions to Parabens.
Firstly the shampoo and conditioner together.

First thoughts on the smell. I would have liked it a bit stronger as I really like to be able to smell it in my hair as the day goes on. It’s really subtle a little bit like oranges. It’s very pleasant but it didn’t really last.
The shampoo did lather up rather nicely and rinse off really well as did the conditioner( I mean rinse off well obviously it didn’t lather!)
So how was my hair afterwards....
Well what can I say, is this my hair on the photograph below? It felt  amazing. I know the picture might not do it justice and I know it might not look good enough for some but for me it’s amazing.
I don’t usually like putting pictures of myself on here as I suffer with confidence issues but I felt I had to share with you a picture of my hair. It feels so soft and kind of looks healthy. This to me is a big thing that hasn’t happened with my hair for months.
The picture was taken after the first day of using the shampoo and conditioner and before I had tried the hot oil treatment and the intense conditioner.
After the very first day it felt super soft and not a hint of frizz at all. You couldn’t even tell I had any damage to my underneath section of hair which is something no other conditioner has been able to achieve.
After seeing such good results I really wanted to try out the deep conditioner. The deep conditioner comes in a little packet that you use as a treatment 1-2 times a week as well as your other shampoo and conditioner. I love this as it’s perfect for travel with it being in a light packet. Again I had really amazing results but I found the formula to be similar to the bottled conditioner. I mean if I was travelling I would probably just take the little packet and use a little bit as and when on my hair instead of the conditioner but it felt really nice and I must admit I did leave it on longer than the time it said on the packet. It says 10 mins I left it for 30 mins. If I was going to use it as a deep conditioner treatment I would try to get two uses out of it as my hair isn’t that long but you might only get one treatment on longer hair.
Now onto the hot oil treatment.
A week after I tried the hot oil. When I was growing up we used to love the V05 Hot oil treatments in our house. It was like a little weekly treat. Fast forward a few years and yes you can still get the V05 ones but strangely I never buy them.
I always worry that the oil will get too hot and I will burn my scalp! This has never happened! I mean ever! But I still worry. You really don’t need to. These work pretty much the same as the V05 ones did/does you warm it in hot water for 1 minute, than pop it onto your head. Again the smell isn’t overpowering and you leave it on for 3-5 mins. I left mine on for just over 5 minutes. You end up with beautiful hair afterwards. I wouldn’t say your hair looks any different to when I used the deep conditioner, it’s completely personal preference as to whether you prefer conditioner or oil. Again it’s ideal for holidays. I can imagine it working really well for hair that gets fried in the swimming pool or sea water. That always happens to me. With the oil you could only get one once a week treatment out of it.

All in all my hair is feeling a lot better thanks to this range and I would definitely recommend if like me your hair is really damaged.
