MAYBELLINE FIT ME MATTE REVIEW
April 24, 2017
By Jue Douglas
I have talked about this foundation before in a blog post, but stupid me accidentally deleted it so I thought I would do another review after I had bought it in another shade.
At £5.99 it's a fantastic price for a matte foundation and having used it before and liked it I knew that I would repurchase.
The original shade I bought it in was shade 115. I have said before that I am rubbish at choosing foundation shades and thought maybe it was abit to dark (which I was surprised about because I thought it would be too light) I was so happy with the formula but thought buying a shade lighter was worth the money.
The second shade I picked was 105. I wasn't sure if this was going to be too light but I thought if it was I could simply mix the two shades together to find a perfect shade.
The packaging is simple and very easy to store as I love tube foundations and find them easy to carry around and ideal for travel.
I always use a damp blending sponge to apply my foundation, I find them easy to use and cleaner than my fingers and easier to use than a brush.
The foundation went on very well and was very easy to blend. It provided very good coverage and after my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder to set it with I was very happy with the colour.and my thoughts of it being too light are right out of the window because but it's not. I was very happy with the shade and to be honest it's very similar to the 115 on my skin. (Even though it doesn't on the photo or in real life).
I always try a new foundation on a day when I go to work. If I'm at home I always obsess about it, if I'm at work I forget about it till it's time to Powder my nose at dinner time.
By dinnertime I did have to re Powder my nose but to be honest I always do (even when I tried Estée Lauder double wear) it's just something I like to do. The look of the foundation had stayed Matte and did last all day. It had settled into pores at the end of the day but it's nothing to major.
I have not enjoyed a Maybelline foundation as much as this one in a long time my last favourite was the Matte Mousse which I used years ago when it was first launched but find it dries out in the little pot so I stopped buying it.
If you are looking for a budget foundation that's so good I've bought two.. give the Maybelline fit me Matte a try as I don't think you will be disappointed.
Happy foundation shopping
