It’s not often you come across a really good makeup brand . You know one that really fills you with excitement. This is how I felt when I stumbled across THE ENGLISH MINERAL MAKEUP COMPANY on Instagram recently. Their products looked amazing, so pretty and super cute, making me really want to try out the brand.
So you all know how much I love a good back story about a brand and this one was founded by a mother and daughter duo. Jeanette and Grace Burrows wanted to provide high quality makeup without any of the harsh ingredients, using the very best 100% natural mineral ingredients with the beliefs that you and your skin deserve the very best. The English Mineral Makeup Company have bought together the gorgeous range of chemical free mineral cosmetics without harsh ingredients found in similar products. This makes each high quality product enjoyable to use and good enough to be traceless on older skin, for example softening fine lines, as well as being gentle enough for young and problem skin.
Many of us have skin problems. I know I suffer from pigmentation and always feel I have to cake my face with foundation to cover this.
Jeanette herself desired a makeup that would blend away age spots, conceal rosacea and thread veins while at the same time not cake or show up fine lines, with a trace less finish.
Now I’m not going to lie I did let out a little gasp at just how gorgeous the packaging is. It’s probably the nicest packaging I’ve ever had from a makeup brand. The cute little touches really make it special and are so not wasted on me. For example the beautiful box the Fairy Godmother came in had a beautiful embellished pumpkin coach on the top of the ribbon. I for one love this kind of thing and yes I will probably keep the box forever! ( don’t judge me here!) Each of the two products  can be stacked perfectly inside the box so it’s a beautiful way to store your makeup.
After getting over just how beautiful the packaging is, I should probably try out the actual products inside.
I was sent two products with a brush. The products were the FAIRY GODMOTHER and a MINERAL BLUSH in the shade Soft.
I’m going to start off with the FAIRY GODMOTHER as this is probably my favourite named item out of the two.
The product itself is based on fairytales and this kind of feels comforting to be applying to your skin. Like it’s a little bit of fairy dust that is going to work a little bit of magic.
The Fairy Godmother is a multi- tasking mineral product. It can be used as an amazing night time skin treatment. This is where the product got its name from and what it was developed as, to work overnight to add moisture, heal and soften fine lines.  Or you could use it in the day as a primer under your makeup or as a finishing powder over your foundation. As a primer this provides a illuminating appearance and whether you choose to use it under your foundation or over the top of it, your makeup will last all day.
The product also promises to change the appearance of your skin. It reflects the light and with it having a smooth texture will reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. ( or as I like to call them laughter lines!)
It’s a very finely milled product that is translucent in colour. This makes it suitable for any skin tone or complexion. It works best in partnership with the brands regular mineral foundation to deliver a beautiful light coverage, light reflecting overall look.
The powder also contains Impressive ingredients such as Jojoba, Green Tea Extract, Rose Hip and Crushed pearls ( this is the only product in EMM that isn’t vegan!) It also contains Anti Oxidants that will look after your skin, so you know you’re not putting any harsh chemicals onto your skin.
Now how did I find it. It’s amazing.. It does indeed blur out minor imperfections and yes.. your skin does look better afterwards. Not only does it blur everything away, but after recently returning from my holidays my skins been terrible with breakouts, this little miracle pot seems to have made my skin     feel and look better. I am really enjoying using it as a setting powder as I feel this works better for me.
The product was actually on the editors choice beauty shortlist well-being awards for 2019 so don’t just take my word for it.
Now onto my second pot of wonderment! ( is that even a word?) So also in the little box was the MINERAL BLUSH in the shade Soft.
The Blush comes in the same packaging as The Fairy Godmother and there's such a good choice of shades to suit all skin tones.
These include five matte shades; Bubblegum, Hot Pink, Soft, and Cool, Three satin finish shades; Rose, Plum and Apricot. One that can be used as a Blush or Bronzer called Deep Pink and lastly Satin Deep which can be used as a contour, blush or bronzer so a great all rounder which I’m very keen to try out.
The shade soft is the perfect shade for a very natural flush and a little of the product does really go a long way. The product is buildable if you require a deeper flush, for let’s say a more bolder look but for me one sweep was just enough.
The blush has also won a Beauty Bible Award 2019. So another award winning product.
I love the fact you can also order samples if you are unsure of your shade. So you can try before you buy.
Also it’s worth mentioning you do get a mini kabuki brush with all orders. These brushes are amazing with super soft bristles for easy no fuss application.

You can also visit the shop for help with colour choice. The brand is based in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire UK and charge £30 for each appointment. This is redeemable against any purchase. If you are local to that neck of the woods this seems like an excellent opportunity.
Another thing to mention is you can order samples online of some of the products available. This makes it an affordable way of trying the products for yourself before buying. I have just ordered 3 foundation samples as I was unsure of my shade and this was £3.50 for 3 samples plus £1 postage which I think is super good value.
