A 2020 CATCHUP AND FAVOURITES

February 04, 2020

Hey you lovely lot, thank you for stopping by.
So I haven’t done one of these for a few months now. You guys know how much I love a good ramble. To be honest it’s what I do best! ( is that I good thing? I’m not so sure!)
So I thought I would bring to you a good old fashioned favourites post. I know I used to do these types of posts every month but found that I wasn’t really changing up my favourites just talking about ones I’d talked about before so I stopped.
So in this post I firstly want to point out that none of the items have been gifted, nor is this a paid for post! It’s just a honest favourites. All of the items have been paid for by my good self ( except one that was a Christmas present!)  I have purposely not included any that have been kindly gifted for two reasons really the first is so I don’t have to write gifted at the top of the post and the second reason is so I can write about items that i haven’t talked about on my blog before. All the items are new favourites to me. I also wanted to write about products that are budget beauty and purse friendly.
At this time of year I know a lot of us are just recovering from Christmas or saving for holidays in the summer so we haven’t got the money to splash out on expensive products for ourselves.

I also wanted to include a little life update. Some of you might have noticed that I haven’t been as active with my blog. I do tend to have little moments like this from time to time. I have been feeling a little bit meh of late. I have been struggling with some self confidence issues of my own.  My confidence does get in the way of my life sometimes and I don’t like to let it show on the blog. I don’t really talk about it at all. But what better way to make us all feel happier than to write about beauty products! So after much thought I thought I would bring back the monthly favourites for January so here they are....
NATURALLY RADIANT BRIGHTENING MICRO POLISH
You’re not going to believe me when I let you how much this product cost me. 60p!!! Yes you read it right. I’m not sure if there’s any more left in your local Superdrug store and it’s out of stock on line but if you can get hold of a tube it’s so worth it. The Naturally Radiant range is one of my favourite skincare ranges and this product exfoliates and brightens your skin. It contains Vitamin C and just feels like a middle of the week skin treat.
HERBAL ESSENCES BIO RENEW HAIR OIL BLEND ARGAN OIL AND ALOE REPAIR £5.99
I actually picked this up when it was half price a couple of weeks ago. Regular readers to my blog will already know the troubles I’ve been having with my hair. It’s a real frizzy mess due to me over colouring it if I’m honest. This product contains real botanicals and even though it not a miracle in a bottle it certainly helps my hair and leaves it smelling amazing and not frizzy.
PS MAUVE EAU DE PARFUM  50ml £5
You know how cheap Perfumes don’t last very long. Well this one does. It’s really good. I know perfume is a personal choice but if you want a cheap everyday perfume Primark do some lovely smelling ones. Slightly more expensive are the perfumes from Next. These are really good as well so you don’t have to spend a lot buying more expensive fragrances.
PS PERFECT FIX FINISHING POWDER £2.50
For the price this light powder is so good. It firstly doesn’t leave a white residue on your face which I know some powders do. This powder blurs all your imperfections ( if you have any!!! and is completely mattifying and translucent. It’s so long lasting as well. My only moan with this product is that it needs a little mirror in the lid for on the go top ups during the day but that’s all really.
PS DEFINE BROW GEL £1
This brow gel is amazing. I picked up the dark brown one at first but found it to be way to dark and ended up picking up a blonde on. I’m not sure what you would do if you were really fair as the blonde shade is darker than you average blonde shade if that makes sense.
NO 7 LASH IMPACT ULTRA £14
This is the only item I didn’t buy with my own money. I received this one in a set for Christmas. I hadn’t used No7 products for years but this mascara is so good. Firstly the packaging is beautiful and I would definitely buy a product just for the packaging!! The mascara itself produces false lash volume which I love. The mascara is £14 which I think is pretty pricey for a drug store product but if you shop around you can get it for £9.50 from Amazon. Also No7 do lots of 3 for 2s so if you use anything in the No7 range this might be the ideal time to give it a go.

LOREAL INFAILLIBLE 24HR MATTE COVER FOUNDATION £9.98
So this is the latest offering from the L’Oréal Infallible foundation range and it’s a really good one. It’s a matte cover foundation and it’s a sort of mixture of the original infallible and the total cover version. It covers everything and lasts all day. It comes in a handy 30ml tube which I do prefer to the pump bottles which makes it ideal for travel. My local store didn’t have the full range of shades so I ended up having to buy two bottles and mixing them. I’m hoping more shades will be added as time goes on because the formula is amazing.

Have you tried any of my favourites? I would love to hear your thoughts of whether you like them or not. I would also love to know if you enjoy these type of posts or if you like me to do a mixed post next time of more expensive items I would love to hear from you.
I will be back next week with a food post for you which is a different type of post for me but I hope you enjoy it.
Until next time
Jue X
