AFRICAN EXTRACTS ROOIBOS ADVANTAGE DAILY REPAIR FACIAL OIL & CLASSIC MULTI PURPOSE TISSUE OIL

July 11, 2020

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
So I do love myself a bit of Skincare and with self care being as important as ever we still need to look after ourselves as well as our skin.
If you have followed me for a while you might remember me reviewing some products from a brand called AFRICAN EXTRACTS .

If you missed the post, I really enjoy using the products and have added them into my skincare routine on a daily basis. So when the brand asked me if I wanted to try out a couple of their treatment oils how could I say no.
So the brand have kindly gifted me a couple of their exciting products to try out, so I thought I would take this opportunity to tell you all about the products with the links to them in case you fancied trying them out for yourself.
Both the products are treatment oils and if you had told me a few years ago I would be putting oils on my face I would have not believed you. Facial oils have become a staple in my skincare routine and I have done previous posts about why I love them so much even though I have a combination skin type.
So who are African Extracts?...
For those of you who have never heard of the brand let me tell you a bit of the their back story (I love a good back story).
African Extracts Rooibos is an affordable natural skincare range that mixes together the science of contemporary skincare with the proven efficacy of natural plant extracts.
The company has been created by beauty expert and award winning beauty editor Sarah Hetherington in her home of Cape Town in 2002.
There are two collections now available in the UK. The classic collection for normal and combination skin and the Advantage section for dry and mature skins.
The Classic collection forms the foundation of the brand with an effective range of everyday cleanse, tone, wash and moisturising products. Where as the Advantage range has been specially formulated to keep skin, young, radiant and smooth.

So what are the treatment oils?
AFRICAN EXTRACTS ROOIBOS DAILY REPAIR FACIAL OIL £15.99 30ml is the brands skin repair solution. This is one of South Africa’s best loved products and now it’s available in the UK.
This treatment oil comes in a glass jar with a droplet in the bottles lid. The droplet holds the right amount of product and a little goes a really long way.
The Daily Repair Facial Oil is from the brands Advantage range and is suitable for older skins. From around 30 plus when our skin tends to need a little bit of something extra.
Because it’s made with bio active Rooibos and plant extracts it’s skincare inspired by nature and it’s good to know we aren’t putting anything nasty on our faces.
The treatment oil isn’t at all greasy and is especially made for tight, dry and ageing skin. Like I said, I always used to worry about putting oil on my face but this one is a real treat. It’s soaks into your skin really quickly with no real oily residue. You actually feel like your giving your skin a real treat.

The treatment really helps protect your skin against environmental damage, such as exposure to UV and air pollution with the increasing levels of pollution, microscopic particles of heavy metals and toxic gases in the air this product is a complete skin saver and has the ability to restore and repair damage on a daily basis.

This advanced treatment oil helps to reduce the appearance of visible damage such as dark spots, which this treatment helps to fade.  I’m always sitting out in the sun (weather permitting!!) and even though I wear an SPF on my face I still suffer with dark spots and know I’m causing my face damage, so I’m hoping that in time this product will help to fade my pigmentation.

The product is jammed packed full to skin goodies such as the  antioxidant power of Bio Active Rooibos, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Jojoba Oil and delicate essential oils of Geranium (to tighten and firm and help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles), German Chamomile( for it anti-inflammatory and skin soothing properties), Rose Oil (for its antibacterial properties), Lavender Oil (to protect against the effects of UV radiation) and Neem Oil (which has been used in India for thousands of years to treat skin ailments such as eczema and psoriasis).
I used this product just before going to bed and the product really seemed to suit my skin. I love how this product makes my skin feel the next morning and I can’t wait to see what using this product does to my skin in the future.
The next product I want to talk about is the AFRICAN EXTRACTS ROOIBOS TISSUE OIL £11.99 125ml
This is the brands signature product and can be used for face and hair.
I do love myself a good multi use product and this one is an amazing example
The product comes in the form of a spray bottle. This makes the product super easy to use and you are safe in the knowledge the bottle will last for ages.
The African Extracts tissue oil is available in the Classic formula and can be used from head to toe.
The Multi Purpose Tissue Oil is very lightweight and non greasy and it contains a blend of Grape Seed and Sweet Almond Oil as well as Bio Active Rooibos Extract, Vitamin E, Soy Bean and Geranium Extract.
Not only does it contain such exciting ingredients it’s one of those products that does amazing things. Not just to your face but is so good for all over your body and makes a great natural alternative to more expensive products that offer similar results but don’t have such an impressive natural list of ingredients .

For example it’s amazing on Stretch Marks if used daily during pregnancy or weight loss, this product is clinically proven to give visual results in just 6 weeks. It also works wonders to help fade Scars, marks and blemishes.

It can also be used as a moisturiser to help smooth and tone ageing skin. This product restores firmness to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles and is to be used under your day or night cream. You only need one Spritz as a little goes a really long way.
It can also be used as all over body treatment for dry, damaged areas all over. It also makes and amazing bath oil and you only need a couple of drops into your bath to help your dry skin look amazing and feel super soft afterwards.

It’s also good for dry nails and cuticles and will help to strengthen and condition. As a reformed nail biter I tend to have brittle nails and my nail beds are history so this is perfect for me. You only need the tiniest amount ( 1 spritz) and that enough to do your whole hand. As well as this I’ve found it feels really nice on your hands if they tend to be a little bit dry.
And lastly for your hair and scalp.
As well as being perfect for braids and dreadlocks this product can be used for dry hair and scalps.
I don’t really suffer from a dry scalp but if you do have damaged hair and a dry scalp this product is all you need. It can be massaged into dry hair for 15 minutes and then rinsed off with a shampoo to bring back life and shine to dry hair. If you have followed me for a while you might remember my hair disaster of 2017 (I used a hair lightener and bits broke off) This product would have been perfect for that time.

Both the treatment products didn’t have the distinctive African Extracts scent like previous products I have tried from the brand. I completely love the scent and would have loved it to have been in the tissue oil ( this would have been amazing in the bath) but these products are Fragrance free, paraben free and rich in antioxidants. The products are suitable for vegans and I will leave the links below if you fancy trying out both the products. It’s free delivery on orders over £20 as well.

I will definitely do a follow up on this post about these products after I’ve been trying them for a few weeks so you guys can see the results.

Until next time
