JANUARY FAVOURITES!

January 31, 2018

By Jue Douglas

Hi there you lovely lot and thank you for stopping by. I hope you are having a great week so far and all is well in your part of the world.
Well I can’t believe January is over already even though it does seem to have been a long time since Christmas. As it’s 31st January as I write this. I thought I would bring to you my January favourites of all the things I have been loving and discovering this month.
Some are newbies and some are old favourites so please forgive me if I’ve had them as favourites before and if I have already done a post  I will link the post  below the item so you can have a proper read about the products and why I love them.
First of all I will start with a new item!!!!
The MAKEUP REVOLUTION CONCEAL & DEFINE £4 is the product that everyone is talking about. At £4 it’s a complete beauty bargain. It comes in 16 shades which is amazing for a Budget Concealer. The only problem with this is the lighter shades seem to be out of stock at the moment but as soon as demand dies down I’m sure you will be able to pick one up in the shade of your choice with ease.

Another new favourite has to be THE BODY SHOP MATTE CLAY FOUNDATION £10. This foundation is great for a full coverage and I completely love it. I do suffer with my skin and some  full coverage foundations do break me out but this one actually makes my skin feel better. It completely full coverage and I would say it hides everything.

I have been suffering with skin redness which I am blaming the winter months here! So I’ve been trying out the MUA COLOUR CORRECTION £3. This looks really scarey when applied but it’s a really nice product to use under my foundation and I feel like it does calm down my skin abit.

You all know how much love a MAKEUP REVOLUTION palette and the ones I am loving at the moment are the RELOADED PALETTE ICONIC £4 and the SOPHX HIGHLIGHTER PALETTE £8.
The price of the Eyeshadow palette is insanely cheap at £4 and is a complete beauty bargain! Please never stop making affordable makeup MAKEUP REVOLUTION because we love you.

The SOPHX highlighter palette is amazing and I love the choice of shades that are available in one lovely palette. The dark bronze shade second from the right on the bottom row is definitely my go to shade ( they don’t have names). I have done a post about the eyeshadow palette from SOPHX but never the highlighter but it’s definitely worth it’s price tag and I would recommend it to anyone.

Still on the subject of my love of MAKEUP REVOLUTION, I really wanted to talk about the RENAISSANCE LIPSTICKS £4. These are super creamy and the choice of shades are amazing.
The packaging does remind me of a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick without the price tag. I have one in my handbag as it looks super luxurious when in the go.

What more can be said about the LOREAL PARIS PARADISE EXTATIC MASCARA £11.99. Older followers know how much I love it and it’s one of my most viewed blog posts so I’ve left the link below just in case you missed it the first time. I think it’s the brush that makes it as it’s a “proper” brush and definitely worth a try if you are out to try a new mascara.

This month I have been using brow powder and have been trying out a few from various brands. My favourite I have found is the RIMMEL BROW THIS WAY £4.99 eyebrow powder. It goes on really nicely and comes with two little brushes ( even though I do like to use my own I thought it was worth saying as it’s always handy to have a brush if you’re  on the go.) If you have never used a brow powder before definitely try the Rimmel one first as it is the best one I’ve used.

Ever since my teenage years I have loved the RIMMEL STAY MATTE PRESSED POWDER £3.99 and even though my skin has changed now I’m still loving it. I do change my products from time to time but this one is always a staple in my makeup bag and I have found I do definitely keep returning
to this powder over again.

Another powder I have been loving is the MAKEUP REVOLUTION BANANA POWDER £5. I have never used a banana powder before and didn’t really know what to expect but I am loving a light dusting of this over my foundation under my eyes and on my forehead and am keen to keep trying it as I’m enjoying it at the moment.

The shampoo I have been loving is the LOREAL ELVIVE DREAM LENGTHS £2.45. There are 3 products in the range
The shampoo, Conditioner and the No Haircut Cream. The products smell lovely and the scent does really last in your hair. I’m not sure if the HAIRCUT CREAM means the end of having haircuts but it feels lovely in your hair and I would definitely recommend.

My favourite fragrance at the moment that I recently discovered is the So...?  SHEER ILLUSION ( £2.49 Fragrance Direct). It’s definitely my go to scent  and as I know Fragrance is a very personal thing it’s cheap enough to give it a try even if you don’t like it.

My favourite skincare product is from the SUPERDRUG NATURALLY RADIANT range. It’s the
NATURALLY RADIANT GLYCOLIC TONIC £5.99.
I was kindly gifted this from Superdrug but I am obsessed with it. My skin felt amazing after using this once and whenever I feel my skin could do with a little pick me up I reach out for this. It leaves your skin feeling all glowy and I would never be without this product! Ever! I did mention this in my NEW YEAR NEW ME blog post so will leave you the link below where I talk about my hopes for 2018! Let’s just say I’m no healthier but we are only a month into 2018 so there is plenty of time! Right?
My wardrobe staple this month has been my double Pom-Pom hat. Please excuse the bad picture but who doesn’t love a Pom-pom and this one has two. It’s from Primark and cost me £3  and keeps my head warm!

Check out the Phone Case as well.. that was another EBay find.. it cost me £4.99 and is a Cath Kidston . Definitely one of my January favourites.
I hope you have enjoyed my little look of what I have been enjoying this month. If you know of any recommendations for next month, leave a comment below as I’m always on the look out for new things.
Until next time
Jue X
