SPRING MUST HAVES!!!

March 17, 2018

By Jue Douglas

Hi again and welcome to my first springy themed(sort of ) post of 2018. This is ironic as it’s snowing a blizzard as I’m writing this, but its my planned post so I’m not going to let the sub zero temperatures put me off.
I hope you lovely lot are well, enjoying the weekend and life is treating you kindly.
At this time of year I love buying Summer clothes and things that just scream “yes I’m prepared for long sunny days and holidays are close”. ( it may be winter weather outside but in my heart it’s spring!!!)

So I thought it would be the perfect time to share with you what Ive been buying so I’m all ready for spring and summer and yes I am ready!!! Completely ready!!!
I did a similar post like this for Autumn which I will link below just in case you missed it.

But it’s all about spring now so let’s forget about the cold weather and wish for long sunny days.

First of all let’s talk FASHION!
I’m not going to lie, I’m abit uncool but I know what I like and I know that tassel earrings and round shaped bags are on trend at the moment. Luckily I like both so that’s all good!

THE BAG
The round bag I have is a Chloe Pixie Inspired Bag from Primark £9. The Chloe Pixie Bag was seen on Meghan Markle on one of her walkabouts. This has made it a must have item. I’m not really a royal person but I do have a cat called Meghan, not that this has anything to do with the bag I just wanted to add it in there.
Anyway the bag is lovely and is the perfect size for an everyday bag or an evening out bag. I thought the Grey one was the best colour for spring even though they had a black and brown shade as well. I will do a WHATS IN MY BAG POST soon.
THE JACKET
On the photo I have teamed it with a Demin jacket. Anyone who knows me knows I’m never without a Demin jacket. It becomes part of my everyday uniform. This one is from Primark £20 and I’m a little unsure of it yet. It’s abit more cropped than my one from last year and has more rips in it. I do believe everyone needs a Demin jacket in there wardrobe for the spring months and it’s a great transition piece. I’m not sure if I will return it and stick to my trusty one from last year. I will keep you posted.

THE TROUSERS
Another thing I am completely in love with are my new black wide leg trousers. They are cropped which gives them abit of an edge and guess how much?????!!! £3 from Primark. I really think they would look awesome teamed with a pair of Vans or Converse.
I love how these type of trousers are very popular at the moment and I really want the same pair but with stripes on but I’m not sure I’m brave enough to wear them. But with me anything’s possible.

THE JEWELLERY
Lastly my love of tassels isn’t quite over yet. I have only just discovered that I own way too many pairs of tassel earrings. Now I don’t know if this is just me but you know when you go into Primark and you pop things into your basket and then forget you have bought them. This happens to me all the time. Please tell me it’s not just me here and I’m not some sort of insane shopaholic.  I don’t think I can come out of Primark without buying tassel earrings at the moment. It’s a good job they are still on trend for the spring.

THE MAKEUP
Spring is the time when I ditch my heavy makeup and go for a lighter summer look. The new Nip + Fab Foundation is lightweight and perfect for summer. I will be doing a post on some of the Nip + Fab products on a future post.
Another foundation I started using last year was the Maybelline Fit Me foundation. It’s so lightweight but very buildable and I have already in 3 shades from pale to a dark shade that I used last summer when I had a little bit of a tan.
I always like to keep my nails painted ( I don’t have very nice nails as I bite them)  and Spring is the perfect time to ditch the dark shades and opt for more pastel and light colours. Lilac is the colour of the season and I’m really enjoying a couple of Rimmel London shades I have recently picked up.
The shades that I’m loving are 558 Wild-er-ness and 560 Lovey Dovey in the Rimmel range and I also have been enjoying The Barry M Gelly high shine in the shade Acai Smoothie. These shades are the perfect spring shades but I’m not able to ditch the glitter at the moment.

I have decided to make these type of blog posts a regular feature as we change the seasons so check out my summer holidays must haves that will be coming in the next few months.
Until next time
