REVOLUTION SOPHX EXTRA SPICE ULTRA EYESHADOW FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Omg you know that feeling you get when you have a favourite makeup palette that you can’t live without!!!  Then the brand only go and bring a new version out and it makes you so excited you have to buy it straight away whether you can afford it or not! ( not in this case as I’ve been saving for a new phone!) Maybe that’s just me but that’s how I felt about the new REVOLUTION EXTRA SPICE PALETTE from You Tuber SOPHX (sophdoesnails).
I do love a good V/Blogger collaboration and the ones from SOPHX never disappoint.
I bought the last Palette from her original range last year in October I think and have used it to death.  Infact I am embarrassed about the way it now looks as I haven’t kept it in good order as I’m normally very tidy with my possessions. I will leave the link below of my original review just in case you missed the original post but I won’t insert a picture of what it looks like now to save my embarrassment.
2017 SOPHX EYESHADOW PALETTE REVIEW
So now I’ve got over my initial excitement let’s me tell you about the new range. The new ranges contains an eyeshadow palette and three lipsticks. I love the fact we have lipsticks now and am going to do a separate review about them at a later date. Today I just want to talk about the Extra Spice Eyeshadow palette as this is my favourite product from the new range and deserves a separate post of its very own. The palette costs £10 which isn't too expensive. Maybe it’s a little expensive compared to some palettes from the brand ( I’m thinking about the Reloaded palettes at £4 each) but to me they still seem good value as you do get a lot for your money. The packaging is amazing. I’m not really a fan of extra boxes with cosmetics as I do think it’s abit wasteful with packaging but the packaging is so shiny even I can’t argue with this.

Inside the box the palette is equally as shiny and I love the fact the lid does contain a mirror. I would have loved a little brush as well but we can’t have everything! The palette contains 18 shades. The shades perhaps aren’t as wearable as the original palette and they do seem to have done a full spectrum of colours to suit everyone. A lot of the shades have a lot of shimmer to them where as I prefer a matte finish but saying that it’s nice to have a little sparkle every now and then.
Another feature to this palette is the names are now written underneath the shade. This to me is a real game changer when it comes to palettes. It’s the thing that makes my job a lot easier. Instead of keep having to refer to the little plastic film sheet that’s on the top or on the back of the packaging we now have the names right in front of us.
The pigmentation of the shades are amazing like always but I have noticed a little bit of fall out of the more shimmery shades but if you’re super careful it’s not a problem.
My stand out shades of the whole palette are Cheesecake, Sweet N’ Sour, Twenty One, Romance, Chocolate Orange and Mulled Wine. These shades are very similar to shades I wear on a day to day basis. I really like to experiment with colour and really love the look of the Aurora shade and it does remind me of the shade Petrol from the Original SOPHX palette that I wasn’t sure about at first and soon became the shade I used up the most.
I have done swatches of all the shades so you get the general idea of pigmentation etc and how much colour payoff they give off after just one stroke.
Also it’s probably worth pointing out that the palette is Cruelty Free and Vegan Friendly so what’s not to love.

If you have this palette I would love to know what you think.. Do you prefer the first one or this one?
I prefer the first palette for the shades and the second  palette for the design of the actual palette.
Until next time, thank you for your ongoing support! It means a lot
