PRIMARK FAKE IT MASCARA!! Is it any good?

April 12, 2019

By Jue Douglas

Well it’s a sunny day so what better way to spend a day off than to write a blog post in the garden. Now I know I’ve said sunny but it’s not hot so I’m sitting here in my coat!! Please don’t judge me here. I spend far to much time indoors so when there is a natural bit of daylight I’m out that back door with my deck chair and my coat like I don’t even care.

So I hadn’t planned to write a blog post today. Making this one of those mini ones where I just waffle on about a product with no planning on what I’m going to say. ( Nothing new then!!) Writing the first thing that comes to mind.
Anyway the reason for my post is that I’ve tried one of the new Primark mascaras that they have released and wanted to share with you my views.

Firstly I think it’s safe to say that I’m going to like it. You guys know by now I don’t really like talking about products I don’t like so I’m not going to dedicate a whole post to it if I’m not loving it.
Secondly I have got though lots of Primark mascaras in the past and they have featured in many a favourites post so hopefully the formula isn’t going to have changed with these new ones just the packaging.
Primark seem to be promoting Three new mascaras in the range. They even have a special little fancy display in the entrance of my local store.
I picked up the Fake It one and may go back for the 3D Lash Effect at a later date. I’m not bothering with the Aqua Lash because I don’t really need it.

THE PACKAGING
Let’s just take a moment to check out the packaging. It is beautiful ( I know I said that about the old packaging but....) The “fake it mascara” does kind of remind me of the Two faced better than sex with its packaging. The Shiny dusky pink packaging is so beautiful and looks so much more expensive than the £2.50 it is.

THE PROMISES
The Mascara does promise to provide a false lash effect and extreme volume.
The brush is what I would call a proper brush and not a plastic brush. I’m not too keen on plastic brushes. I find they don’t work for me but different people like different things so who am I to judge.
I found the brush is very similar to an Essence mascara that I once owned.( which I loved!) I’m thinking it might be one of the Lash Princesses but please don’t quote me..
Well I know what you’re thinking it’s no good having a mascara that looks pretty if it’s not going to work. That’s the beauty of it all it really does. It makes lashes look longer than they actually are and finds the lashes on your eyelids you never knew you had.

I used about two coats to get the look I really liked. It sets really quickly and didn’t clump at all.
The brush isn’t as thick as I would have liked it to have been, like the Essence one but that might be the secret of this product so perhaps I don’t really want a thicker brush after all.
Sorry about the weird eye picture!

In my eyes ( forgive the pun!!!!!!)  Primark can’t do a thing wrong on the mascara front. ( except the Aqua Lash which they have repackaged since I used it so that might even be good now!)

If you have tried any of these new mascaras I would love to hear your views. Do you love them as much as me.
Until next time
