PR/ Gifted to review

You may remember last year (it feels so weird to say that and a Happy New Year before I forget!!) I wrote a post all about THE INKEY LIST haircare. It was the first time I had tried it and let’s just say now, I’m completely hooked. I did promise you guys a post all about the brands Skincare so this blog post is all about that.
As with the haircare, The Inkey List offers budget friendly skincare containing ingredients in their products that target a range of skincare concerns.
Just like the skincare, layering your skin products is an effective way to maximise the results of your day to day routine.

So first things first, If you are unfamiliar to the brand let me give you a little bit of background information. (You guys know I love a backstory!
The Inkey List was founded by Colette Laxton and Mark Curry in 2018 and was born from a belief that better knowledge powers better decisions.

With the world of beauty, and particularly Skincare and Haircare that can be confusing. The Inkey List is passionate about their community with personal individual recipes to suit each and everyone of us.

The brand also offer a Recipe Builder for skin as well as hair, so you can get a personalized haircare routine in 2 minutes by answering a few questions about your skin goals and needs.
So, recently the brand kindly gifted me a PR package full of exciting goodies. I’ve been trying out a few of the brands products over the last few weeks and thought I would firstly tell you all about them and then tell you if they worked for me.
If you have followed me for a while you will know that skincare is important to me. Over the last few years my skin has been really problematic and I find the right ingredients in my skincare really helps.
HYALURONIC ACID £5.99
What is Hyaluronic Acid?
This is a lovely lightweight Hyaluronic Acid serum that includes a powerful moisture-binding ingredient. It works beneath the skin's surface and can hold up to 1000x its weight in water.

This is so easily absorbed and is known as a super serum that works across multiple layers of the skin, hydrating your skin, helping it appear plump and smooth, while reducing the appearance of fine lines.

This can be used AM and PM and is to be used as your first serum product on cleansed skin and you just need a small pea-sized amount to your face and neck. You can then follow on with all your other toners and serums. This product works really well. It locks in moisture and leaves your face feeling so soft and I would definitely repurchase in a heartbeat.

What is Niacinamide?
This is a lightweight Niacinamide serum which contains naturally occurring vitamin (B3), which helps control excess oil, reduce blemishes and redness.

This can be used AM and PM, again on cleansed skin you can apply a small pea-sized amount to face and neck. If you are using this alongside any other serums, layer in any order. If you have more sensitive skin or are not used to Retinol you can use Niacinamide before the Retinol to help decrease irritation. This serum really helps with redness and leaves your skin feeling amazing. I tend to go for products that contain Niacinamide as I find it really helps my skin and this one is the best one I’ve used. I love the fact that it’s a serum not a cream and soaks in really well.
BUKUCHIOL £9.99
What is Bakuchiol?
This is a rich moisturiser containing Bakuchiol, which is an antioxidant found in the seeds of the plant psoralea corylifolia. This makes it a natural alternative to Retinol.
I have to admit this is the only product that I hadn’t heard much about. This product helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles whilst protecting and nourishing the skin. This product is made with the Omega-3 packed Sacha Inchi Oil and Squalane, this really helps to hydrate and nourish your skin.
Again this can be used AM and PM and a pea-sized amount can be applied to cleansed skin on the face and neck after all your other preferred serums.
Unlike retinols, Bakuchiol is safe for day use
and during pregnancy and breast feeding and doesn’t need to be added gradually. This product is perfect if your skin doesn’t suit retinol products and is on the sensitive side. I found it really nice to use but prefer a retinol product.

15% VITAMIN C + EGF SERUM £14.99
What is 15% VITAMIN C AND EGF?
Vitamin C, a powerful multifunctional antioxidant that helps to protect skin from damage caused by environmental pollution (called free radicals) with EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) a signal peptide, helping to stimulate skin cells to regenerate and refresh the dermis, enabling rejuvenated, youthful skin,

Again this can be used AM and PM and a pea-sized amount can be applied to cleansed skin on the face and neck and if you are using this alongside other serums, layer in any order. This is gentle to use everyday.
This serum is absolutely lovely to use. It’s so lightweight and really brings a glow to the skin without weighing it down. I find that if my skin is feeling a little bit dull in the winter months adding a Vitamin C product into my skincare routine really helps.
RETINOL £9.99
What is Retinol?
Retinol has to be my favourite skincare ingredient and this one is a treat to use.
So the one from The Inkey list is a lightweight Retinol serum that is a derivative of Vitamin A that helps to promote skin renewal and smooth fine lines and wrinkles.

This is to be used in the PM only. On cleansed skin apply a small pea-sized amount to face and neck. If you are this using alongside other serums, layer them in any order.
This is the only product that needs to be built up over a few days. It’s recommended that you start at first every other or every third night and build to every night, but use consistently for maximum results.
This ingredient has really helped with my fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation and is an ingredient that I will always use in my skincare routine.
SALICYLIC ACID £10.99
What is Salicylic Acid Cleanser?
This is a gel cleanser formulated with Salicylic Acid and is an exfoliant that helps to penetrate deeper into skin's pores and unclog them. As well as effectively cleansing the skin, this 2% Salicylic Acid cleanser has an added zinc compound. Together they help with oil-control, reducing blackheads and breakouts and promoting a more even looking complexion.

This product can be used AM and PM and I had to admit is a real treat to use. You gently massage a small amount onto dampened face and neck making a small lather and then rinse thoroughly with water. This product leaves your face super refreshed and clean and I’ve found that it really has helped me clear up my problematic blemished skin over the last few weeks. You can use this followed by your preferred serums and moisturisers. Best of all it’s not just for your face! You can use it on any other blemish-prone areas, including your back and chest.
