YARDLEY LONDON FLORAL FRAGRANCES PERFECT FOR SUMMER!

Today I come to talk about a fragrance that belongs to one of the oldest perfume shops in the world.
I don’t often bring history to the blog but today’s brand has over 250 years of fine fragrance under its belt, Yardley London has been capturing the delicate fragrance of English flowers Since 1770.
So I’m sure that you have all heard of Yardley. Its one of those brands that we have kind of grew up with. (My Nan loves English Lavender!)
Yardley dates back to the 17th century, when a small businessman received permission from King Charles I to supply soap to the residents of London.
Much was lost from the brand's history in the great fire that destroyed the city in 1666, but it's from 1770 that we have the birth of the Yardley that we know today.
It was Queen Mary who bought the brand to worldwide attention in 1905 when she revealed Yardley to be the official supplier of beauty and hygiene products for the British royal family.
In 1910, Yardley moved into retail with the opening of their first store at 8 New Bond Street, in London’s luxury shopping district. The store soon became a London landmark and shopping destination for the wealthy and fashionable.
From that moment onwards everyone wanted to have at home the products that royalty and the wealthy used. You know rather like the influencers of their time. Since then fashion and influence has changed but the brand wouldn’t be where it is today without this piece of history.
So onto today’s products. I have been kindly gifted a couple of the brands floral fragrances to try out. I have a Eau De Toilette and a Body Spray in two different scents perfect for the summer months. Both scents are available in each format so if you have a favourite you can buy the full range including the EDT, Body Mist and other bath products that are available.
So onto the Eau De Toilette which is the YARDLEY BLUEBELL AND SWEETPEA EDT
First of all the packaging is lovely. It’s simple yet would look good on any dressing table. You get 125ml of product and I love the fact that the liquid is blue.
So what does this fragrance smell like?...This fragrance contains citrus, bergamot, lemon and cassis chords with a heart of bluebell, jasmine, rose, lily of the valley and peony accented with a touch of sweet pea and enhanced with smooth,woody notes, vanilla and musk. Regular readers to my blog might know I love anything with Vanilla as I love a sweet floral. The scent is great to pop on in the morning and I would definitely buy the matching body spray to pop in your bag as a top up as the day goes on. It’s made from 90% naturally derived ingredients and is Vegetable derived alcohol base. Prices start for £9.99. Its Cruelty free and Suitable for vegans. AVAILABLE HERE!
So if you are after something a little bit lighter than a EDT but don’t want to compromise on the scent quality, then a body mist might be a more appealing option. These are great to carry around in your bag for regular top ups and are just £6.99 for a 200ml bottle.
So the one I’ve been kindly gifted is The YARDLEY FREESIA & BERGAMOT MOISTURISING FRAGRANCE BODY MIST. This is a lighter version of the fragrance. The scent is so long lasting, and is a quick drying moisturising Fragrance Body Mist infused with Yardley London's Freesia and bergamot fragrance. I love the fact that it’s moisturising as well so you know it’s not going to dry out your skin. It also contains Aloe Vera extract which helps the skin feel soft and smooth and contains 97% naturally derived ingredients. It’s a refreshing light, citrus floral fragrance with top notes of bergamot, lemon, mandarin and cypress, with the heart that contains freesia, lily of the valley, ginger and pepper with a warm, sensual base of sandalwood, musk and amber.
I love having one of these to pop into my handbag. Not only are you going to smell amazing during the day but can you believe this scent doubles up as hand sanitiser! That fact really blew my mind!
