FREEDOM PRO HIGHLIGHT AMBIENT (DUPE??)
January 13, 2018

Hiya again and thank you for stopping by on this very cold January day. I hope life is being kind to you and you’ve had a good week.
So this week I was going about my business ( ie online shopping) when I came across the Superdrug website and discovered that FREEDOM had there cosmetics at half price!!!
For those of you who don’t know the Freedom brand its part of the same family as my favourite makeup brand ever MAKEUP REVOLUTION.
I only had one item of Freedom in my collection ( brow pomade) so I thought it was an ideal opportunity to add a few more bits while it was on offer. ( I do love a half price offer).
The product I was most excited about getting my hands on was the FREEDOM PRO HIGHLIGHT in the shade AMBIENT.
Now this product retails normally at £3!! Which is cheap enough but at the moment it’s £1.50.. I’m leaving you the link just in case you don’t believe me, as the price is to good to be true.

I have heard so many good reviews about this product. I don’t know how true this is, but It has been talked about as being a dupe for the Hourglass ambient lighting powder, which is £40 ( I’ve just googled it!!!) now that’s insane!!!!
I’m only recently new to the party with highlighters so for me to spend £40 on any product would be crazy when I can spend £1.50 on a simular product.
I’m super keen to do a day test with this product, to see how it fairs and if I think it’s worth spending £1.50 on. ( let’s face it, it’s going to be!!)
Now before I start I'm a little bit rubbish when I apply highlighter. I’ve watched so many you tube videos that you would think I should be an expert by now. Sadly I’m not going to lie I probably don’t have the best skin to carry the highlighter look off . My views do come from someone who doesn’t wear much highlighter in the first place so if you’re a highlighter pro any tips would be greatly received.
How people apply it to there nose and it not look like it’s gone abit shiny I’ll never know because when I try to highlight my nose, it looks super shiny and then my pressed powder comes out to counteract the highlighter and I look an over powdered mess. So I’m just testing it on the tops of my cheeks here.
I used my REAL TECHNIQUES brushes that I did feature on a previous post ( my advent calendar) to apply. I do love these brushes as they are so good and if you get them on an offer they are really affordable. They are definitely the best brushes I own and they are pink!!!!!! ( what’s not to love)

The brushes are still available at £7.49 for the set so I’ve left the link just in case you fancied buying them.
I think you could go all day with the powder without a retouch though because it’s just a touch of something. The swatch that I have done does not do this lovely product justice to what it looks like on your face. Is it does seem a little bit more glowy on the face.
I’m keen to try more in the range and I did buy another one from the pro highlight range called GLOW the same time as this one but that does really show up.
It does seem more pigmented than the Ambient pro highlighter so would be perfect if you are abit of a pro with highlighter unlike me. This for me will take some practice to apply.
If you have used any either of these products I would love to hear from you to know what you think.
I would also love to hear from anyone who has used the Hourglass Ambient highlighter to see if it’s worth the money.
Until next time
