The New “No Gimmick” Mascara
By Jue Douglas

So you guys know me by now. When Revolution release a product my heart does a little leap of excitement and I want to buy it straight away. I have been hearing so much hype surrounding Revolutions long awaited mascara that when I found it was available in my local ( and the best) Superdrug store I had to pick it up.

THE MASCARA REVOLUTION ( see what they did there!) promises no gimmicks, no outlandish claims, no crazy ingredients, just real results! ( I don’t know about you but I kind of like gimmicks and crazy ingredients in my mascara  but that’s just me!)
It also promises amazing volume, length, and won’t smudge or flake.

I was super excited to try this and I’ve been trying it for the last few days so I thought I would share my views with you guys and whether I think it’s worth buying or not!
Firstly the packaging! I love how expensive it looks it could easily be from a more expensive brand. . The tube is very chunky and is a beautiful Rose Gold colour which ties in very nicely with the lids of the Concealer and Foundation in the range. I do love the packaging  but I know the factor of it being so big might put some people off. You get 12ml of product which is above the standard sized amount for a normal mascara so it’s not all packaging.
The brush is also massive as well.  I do love a proper bristled brush and this hourglass shaped one kinda reminds me of the L’Oréal Paradise Mascara except this one is a lot bigger.

The formula seems so thick and when I opened the tube I did find I had to wipe excess mascara off the wand before applying to my eyes as it was a little clumpy. You have to do this every time you put the wand into the product as when you remove it the wand is completely loaded with way too much product.
Even though the brush is so big, it’s still easy to use.( after the excess mascara has been wiped off the brush!) You can get to every top lash so easily. It’s slightly harder for the bottom lashes with the brush being so thick but I think you would get used to it the longer you use it.
I applied two coats and with it being a thicker formula my lashes certainly did look volumized. I can imagine this not appealing to some people, just for the sheer amount of product on the brush, but I loved it.
It doesn’t really separate either and if you love a spidery look this product is perfect! If you’re looking for long, separated lashes this might not be the right mascara for you as it didn’t really add any length but plenty of volume which definitely makes me happy.

Sorry for the weird picture again!
Please bear in mind my lashes are quite long in the first place but not very thick.

I perhaps would have liked to see more length and curl with maybe some added fibers but then it wouldn’t be a no gimmick product then would it!
I have to agree, with the claims that it didn’t flake or smudge as the day went on  and I found it was easily removed at night with my usual makeup remover.

It’s also cruelty free and suitable for vegans which is always a plus with a product.

So is it worth the money?
Perhaps a little pricey at £8 but still a good quality product and I’m so happy Revolution have an easy to find mascara in their collection. I know they have had them in the range before and I swear they were cheaper ( about £3). The brand probably could have got away with smaller packaging with this product as well but all in all a good product that I’m glad I’ve tried

If you have tried this product I would love to hear your views!
Do you find it a little clumpy when you removed the wand from the tube or is this just me?
I would love to hear any recommendations regarding any other products you would like me to try out for a review!
Next time I will be back probably either my October favourites and a brand new “whats in my bag” so keep a look out for that.
Thank you again for your ongoing support it means a lot
Until next time
