SUGARCOATED FULL BODY WAX HAIR REMOVAL FOR SUMMER 2021

May 24, 2021

Gifted for review
So now that the warmer weather is (hopefully) upon us it’s time to think about hair removal.
I have to admit I don’t really have much in the way of body hair. I went though a spell of using epilators and the hair didn’t grow back so much. So these days I just usually go over my body hair with a wax strip, hair removal cream or a razor and I’m good to go. I have never been to a salon for hair removal as I’ve always done it myself. Many people have discovered home hair removal kits for themselves whilst salons were shut in lockdown and the brand I want to talk to you today about sold one tub every 30 mins during lockdown.
I always thought of wax in a pot being a bit messy and tended to just stick to the strips. But after hearing such good things about Sugar Wax and the brand SUGARCOATED  I really was excited to give it a try.
SUGARCOATED is a 100% natural sugar wax that is made from pure sugar syrup and water. This formula means it pulls hair from the root and doesn't tug on skin, which is usually the cause of any waxing pain. So what is Sugar Coated?
SUGARCOATED is an ethical alternative to waxing. It provides an ultra-effective hair removal treatment that is gentle on your skin and the environment. Sugar Waxing has been used for years and SugarCoated strive to be as ethical and eco-friendly as possible with the product being vegan friendly and cruelty free. It is also 100% natural, completely water soluble, biodegradable, registered as vegan, leaping bunny certified and Eco friendly.
So before I talk about how I got on with the product, regular readers to my blog will know I do love a good back story about the brand and SugarCoated is no different. So the founder Rosie Khandwala, grew up in Tanzania with her mother and sisters. Coming to the UK in 1987, Rosie noticed there were no sugar waxing kits available, like she had used growing up in Tanzania. So she started to make her own to use at home and then on to selling the kits. Her business grew so much Rosie was able to take over a nearby premises where she still manufactures the wax kits today and in 2019 SugarCoated was born.
So the kit that I have been kindly gifted is the SugarCoated full body hair removal. This is the classic formula that is safe to use all over your body.
SugarCoated do have kits available for different areas of the body. For example you can just buy a leg hair removal, facial hair, bikini line, underarm and arm, and even hair removal on tattooed skin. but I think with the full body kit you have everywhere covered. The Sugarcoated packaging is super cute and very eye catching whichever version of the product you go for.
The kit includes 250g sugar wax that is made up of pure sugar syrup and Water, 3 spatulas (2 big & 1 small), and 15 re-usable strips (the strips that come with the kits are washable and reusable so there is no waste)
So how did I go on…? I’m quite brave when it comes to hair removal so it didn’t hurt much at all. I don’t know if that’s because I’ve been used to an epilator in the past or I have tough skin. Certain areas do tend to hurt more than others so for the sake of this post I decided to do my legs.
The wax is easily prepared in the microwave. You can pop the whole tub in for a few seconds (I had to do 60 seconds in my microwave but microwaves do vary so please be careful.) and then you are good to go making sure the wax isn’t too hot. I love the fact that the outer side of the tub doesn’t get hot. This makes it easier to carry but hard to check the temperature of the actual wax. The wax smells amazing. It’s sort of a sugary caramel smell and it smells good enough to eat.
You only need a very thin coating and this spreads really easily if the wax it at a hot temperature. On my legs it’s easier to pull along and not up with the strip as I found the hair came away using that method.

The strips can be reused and I was surprised at how well the strips do wash after using them with no plastic or waste. The strips can also be cut into smaller pieces. This is really helpful for smaller areas such as facial waxing, bikini or underarms. I love how the strips don’t leave you with much sticky residue on your body and even if you do have a little bit it’s easy to wash away with warm water.
It’s a nicer product to use than strip wax or regular wax and if you do tend to use a salon SUGARCOATED could really save you some money in the long run.
At this point I would usually leave an after picture but no one wants to see used wax strips. But the product left me hair free with no skin irritations. The hair removal lasts for about three weeks so it’s perfect for long lasting hair removal to get you ready for the Summer months ahead.
